THE COFFEE TABLES SPECIFICATION

Produced at my workshop in Hampshire, to individual specification, the wooden coffee tables are hand crafted in selected prime F.S.A. certified oak and other hardwoods.
Each coffee table is to my original design, made with traditional mortise and tenon joints, and is signed and dated on the underside.

COFFEE TABLE COMPONENTS

The coffee table legs can be produced in a variety of styles: hand turned, plain, tapered, fluted and corner beaded, or curved are just some of the variations.
The rails and top can also be plain, for a more modern or contemporary design, or embellished with various moldings in the case of more traditional designs.

COFFEE TABLES WITH STORAGE

Many of the coffee tables I construct incorporate added storage. This can take the form of a pot shelf, or magazine shelf: either low down, or immediately underneath the coffee table top, or the storage can be provided in the form of drawers. The drawers can be custom sized: to accommodate DVDs or CDs for example.
One design feature of the storage shelves, that is a speciality of mine, is to make them from tongue and grooved, beaded boards, that are random widths. This contributes to the individual, custom made look of the coffee table.

FINISHING

All the components of the coffee tables are belt sanded, wet down to raise the grain, and then hand sanded with 150 grit sand paper. If required, they can then be stained with wood dye. Finally, the tables are hand finished with shellac and antique wax or with a water based lacquer.
